Empress Amidala and Palpatine Commission
I'm not really a Star Wars guy. I've seen all the movies, but I missed the boat in my youth. I was more a Transformers guy. As such, I wasn't familiar with this particular costume for Queen Amidala until the buyer sent me this link for reference:

90s Rogue Commission
This is a commission for a friend and long-time customer. He wanted the 90s Rogue, which I was glad to hear because it was the only version I was familiar with, since I stopped reading X-Men on a regular basis in the late 90s.
Colored in colored pencil with a little acryllic paint for the outline of the face.

What I've Been Working On Lately
Here are some commissions I just finished. At least the only ones I can post on a family site.
I'll start work on the new batch tonight. I hope I can get it done a lot faster than I did the previous one. Last month I completed nine commissions. Which means I only sold nine commissions. I hope to get to the point where I can get twice that much done. We'll see.

"Cobra!!!!!!!"
I've always loved Cobra Commander. Hell, I love anything voiced by Chris Latta. Too bad he's long gone. Poor dead bastard. I was intrigued to learn that that wasn't his normal voice. His normal voice was the one he used for Spike's dad on Transformers G1 seasons 1 and 2. He played LOTS of characters throughout his career. I see this commission as a tribute to him.

Commission Season
Well, it's commission season again (when is it not).
Here you'll find She-Hulk, Black Cat, and Spider-Man with Black Cat.
I've been posting more regularly to my page at www.powguero.deviantart.com because I have trouble logging in to this site sometimes. I don't plan on abandoning it, though. This blog has served as a showcase of my journey back into drawing over the last two (or so) years.
Thanks.

New Halcyon Characters
These are some recent additions to my arsenal of Halcyon Characters.
Amazona is one of the good guys...make that "girls". Not just a pretty face and killer body, as a member of a forgotten race of human offshoots, she has the strength of more than ten men.
Debacle is the leader of an international superhuman terrorist network. He possesses limited elemental powers.
Savage is one of Debacle's assassins. As a half-human werewolf he can control his transformations.

Doc Steele In Color!
I've posted Doc Steele here before. He's a reimagined version of Nedor's old character, Doc Strange.
You'll notice that he's in color this time. Well, I'm gradually learning to color digitally. I can't promise that you'll see any wild, psychadelic swirls or anything too intricate, but a little color goes a long way, don't you think?

Padmé
This client wanted a drawing of Padmé on her wedding night, partially nude. This is the censored version, of course. Last I heard we couldn't show nudity on blogger, but I know I've seen it on some sites.
Anyway, this is the pose that came to mind. It's like she's just waiting to be unwrapped like a present to Anakin. I'm just glad I didn't have to draw that DREADFUL Hayden Christiansen.

Samarai Chick Pencils and Inks
For this piece the client gave me two pieces of photo reference, one of a sexy asian woman brandishing a samarai sword, and another of a fantasy statue of a woman in some skimpy armor outfit. He wanted me to combine the two. The pencils were separate because he wanted to keep them. I put them up to my window and traced the outline of it for the inks.
Please leave comments if you have the time. I love hearing from people.
Thanks.

Raphael # 2
Raphael here is my second attempt at the character. The first was posted a week (or so) ago, and it's ok, but not my best work. I mean, I slathered it with wite-out correcting my inking mistakes, and when I noticed that I drew the head on a little off kilter. I'm much more satisfied with this one, and I hope his creator, Jennifer MacDonald, likes it too.

The Cat Came Back
I used to read Catwoman back in the 90s when Jim Balent was drawing the character. I was pleased to get the commission request of this retro version of her. This is a color scan; that's why you can see every stroke of the permanent marker. It looked better to me than the black and white one I did. Stay tuned for a oouple of Storm scans. I have to CENSOR them first!

World's Finest
This is the first piece of art I've completed with my new Pitt fineliners I got in the mail the other day. I like the sharpness and the clean linework I get with them, but I think I'll continue to use the brushpens and just add the fineliners to my arsenal for small details. Then again, my mind could change. We'll see.
