Teela Snake!

A guy who bought a the catwoman/batgirl drawing from me paid a little extra and got a pencil commission of Teela. The unique thing about his request was that he wanted her drawn as a snake woman.

No limits.

Vampi!

I had to take a break from Ebay to get some commissions done (just like last month), but I'm nearing completion of the six or seven I'm working on (I lost count), so it's time to start listing again. Here's a Vampirella piece I did today for my auction.

Christmas Canary

I'll be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about Black Canary. But I saw her on Justice League Unlimited and I had to draw her.

Oh..and Merry Christmas.

Teela

This is a preliminary sketch for a commission of Teela, daughter of Man-At-Arms from the He-Man cartoon. Lots of memories came rushing back as I was drawing this, believe you me.

Gravity, Tarzan,and Jane, Oh My!

I recently subscribed to Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited, in which thousands of back issues are available for reading online, and I came across a cool character named Gravity. As his name implies, he can control gravity. I thought I'd try my hand at drawing him. Actually, I'm been thinking about redrawing some of the pages I've seen and using them as submission samples.

The second piece is a recent commission of Tarzan and Jane that I've censored.

More Gryphons!

Here's my latest progress on the gryphon commission. I've added a little background, and I've added some detail the the two fallen gryphons. I'm probably going to add a sun behind the last one standing because I have a circle template that is just the right size.

Pucker Up.

Just imagine that Catwoman and Batgirl got tired of fighting one night...and decided to be friends. Or maybe more.

A job for Supergirl!

Supergirl is very popular in the original art listings on Ebay, and here's another one of my own renditions. I took the Clark Kent approach, but I don't think Kara has a secret identity in the comics, since I rarely pick up a DC comic anymore. Sorry, DC.

Nakedness (Censored)!

I was led by some inner force to draw this adult version of Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter books. She's censored, but the uncensored version is for sale on Ebay now.

Ginny Weasley's next.

X-23

X-23 (for those out of the loop) is the clone of Wolverine (for those who don't know who Wolverine is, I can't do anything for you). In current continuity she's only
15. In this drawing, however, I've aged her about 3 or 4 years to make the outfit a little more leagal in forty-eight states. It's currently for sale on Ebay for those interested. Just click the link to the left under my favorite places to visit.

Redline

This is a drawing I was commissioned to do by Jonathan Faraci featuring his character Redline (all rights reserved). Unfortunately I still don't have a printer large enough to accommodate the original 11 X 17" size, so I'm having to post it in two pieces as I've done with a few others. I'm hoping I can get Jonathan (assuming he has a scanner large enough) to send me a full scan if possible once he receives the package.

Gryphons In Progress

I started this piece about a month ago and have been working on it in very small segments. The buyer has been unbelievably patient, for which I'm grateful. This one's almost finished. After this I'll be working on a centaur drawing for him. I've really enjoyed the opportunity to draw new things.

"H" Magazine

I did this piece from a little bit of photo reference from H Magazine, a Spanish language Maxim clone I found on the magazine rack at the store where I work. I'm trying to become more adept at drawing the female form, especially the face. Expect to see mroe pieces like this in the near future.

Phoenix Inks

I inked this a couple of weeks ago and never posted it. I'm currently busy working on getting some commissions done, so I haven't done anything I wanted to put on the blog lately. Enjoy.

Wonder Head

A quick sketch of Wonder Woman without her tiarra(sp?). I was perusing an Adam Hughes website and came across some impressive art and it inspired me. The influences are pretty obvious, especially around the eyes.

Adult Supergirl

Well, after a month-long hiatus I'm back on the Ebay circuit. I had to take a little time off to get some commissions done. Research and past selling experience indicates that well known superheroines with exaggerated proportions and/or in provocative positions are the most in demand. Voila.

Bats, Baby!

This Batman piece was done in 1996 when I was sixteen. It was a prolific era predating the beginning of my working career. For those who don't know, from mid 1998 to probably 1995 I didn't draw a lot. I got extremely rusty and have only recently gotten back into the swing of things.

Cheers.

More Americana!

This is a humorous piece featuring Kevin Ryan's Americana. This is the last of four recent commissions I did for Kevin. You can check his site out to read stories featuring Americana and other characters at www.kcryan.com.

Invincible

I've loved Robert Kirkman's Invincible since I first read it. It truly is one of the greatest superhero comic books to come out in years. You can read the first issue free at www.imagecomics.com. (No, I'm not getting a commission for refering it)

This is a quick posting of a piece I did over the weekend, but there's been a lot going on so I didn't get around to posting it until now. Enjoy.

Underworld

I saw the kick-ass opening scene from Underworld: Evolution and got the idea for this sketch. It's a more sinewy werewolf than I'm used to drawing, less fur involved.

The Reverie

This drawing was a cover I submitted for my high school's literary magazine senior year (1998). It was turned down because (and I'm paraphrasing my English teacher, who was the coordinator of the magazine) "it's too busy."

I'll leave that to you, the reader, to decide.

Inks!

I felt like inking tonight, so I pulled a drawing out of my folder and started working on it. I haven't inked in a while because I quickly became disillusioned with the pen. This piece, however, was done with a cheap brush I cut down to a fine set of bristles. It was a breeze! I had more more fun inking the piece that I did drawing it!
The second piece is a nameless wolf girl I did for practice.

Gryphon Pencils

About a week and a half ago I posted a rough sketch of a gryphon sketch I would be working on. Here's the (almost) finished pencils of the main gryphon (1 of 3) of the piece. As you can see I had to do a lot of tweaking in the design.

Jeannette

For those of you not familiar with Jeannette from Forever Knight, she is one of the sexiest female vampires ever personified. She was portrayed by Deborah Duchene. I had a little photo reference, but I took a lot of liberties.

Tigra!

One of the first commission requests I received when I started auctioning off fully inked 11 x 14" drawings. The client requested "Tigra hulking out." He loved how it came out. That's what it's all about.

Sketch Cards!

I'm a huge fan of the nineties vampire crime drama "Forever Knight." I did these sketch cards to sell on Ebay. I think that, even though the likeness isn't totally there, some might find them interesting pieces to add to their collection.

Commissions!

This image of "3 chicks" is nearly done except for a few minor details to the White Queen. I've had a great time working on it ("working" is not the right word. To me this is not work).

Peter Gryphon

This is a rough conceptual design for a commission I'm about to start in which the client wants a scene where there's a field of fallen gryphon warriors and one last gryphon standing like the last scene in the movie "300".

Phoenix

This isn't a commission piece, but it's something I did to stay in practice. I try not to let a day go by that I haven't drawn something. I started dozing off tonight, but I got a surge of inspiration. The result was...Phoenix.

Hectic week!

What a week! The commission requests have been rolling in at an alarming rate, which I'm extremely grateful to the universe for (insert cosmic deity of your choice for the word "universe"). This drawing is another piece of Kevin Ryan's Americana. Kevin has a website on the web where he publishes stories and commissions different artists to illustrate the main action point of each story. Once I get the URL for his site I'll post it along with the other commissions for his characters as I finish them.

Cheesecake and Mary Jane!

For this commission, the buyer wanted this particular character eating and enjoying a piece of cheesecake in honor of her creator's birthday. Before I drew this I had never ever drawn someone holding a fork. It felt great to do something I'd never done before.

The other image captures a tender moment either pre- or post- coitus between Peter Parker and Mary Jane (censored, of course).

String Bikini Portrait

Here's the gist of this commission as per the instructions from the client:

"I'd like a drawing of my wife when she was in her teens, wearing a string bikini. Here's some reference photos of her face."

I nailed the facial likeness, but I made up the body, which was fine by him. He was so pleased with it that he wants more drawings of her in a mini-skirt and tube-top.

Brushing the Dust Off

The hulk sketch you see here was done in late '05 while we were staying with relatives in Bosier City, La for the aftermath of hurricane Rita (the forgotten hurricane of 2005).

The second image is from a comic I was working on for a guy the same year. It ended up falling through for some reason.

Enjoy!

"You know what" sells.

Well, not sex per se.
I'd never drawn a naked woman in my life until I saw that there was a market for it. The first two pieces have been doctored up to adhere to Blogger.com standards of decency. The're currently up for auction on Ebay. The final two are some commissions I did for a guy about a month ago.

Thanks.
Mike
P.S. See? I'm posting a little more often!
